“A Night in Black and White”  

AUCTION and DINNER on FRIDAY, APRIL 25th

“A Night in Black and White” is the sophisticated theme of the 2008 Iona Grammar School Auction and Dinner sponsored by the Mothers’ Auxiliary. Our Chairpersons are Mrs. Cindy Cristofaro and Mrs. Sandy Fulco, Co-Presidents of the Mothers’ Auxiliary. This event is our school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. We hope to entice all of Iona Grammar School ’s parents and friends to attend in support of our school. The evening will be a great opportunity for parents, administrators, faculty and friends to share the “Night in Black and White” experience. Ticket price is $100.00 per person.

Mr.Borchetta has proudly announced that this year’s honorees are two loyal and dedicated parents, Mrs. Carmen Noschese and Mrs. Mary Petriccione. Our honorees have served Iona Grammar School for a combined total of fifteen years. It is with great pride that we honor them for their dedication and commitment to enhance the quality of our students’ lives.

EXCITING NEW AGENDA

We are DELIGHTED to present a NEW AGENDA for this year’s Auction and Dinner

Our evening will begin at 6:30PM with an Open Bar of Premium Liquor, Wine and Beer and Butlered Hors d’oeuvres

The SILENT AUCTION will be open and will remain open until 9:00PM

Dinner will be International Buffet Style from 7 to 9:00PM

Dinner includes: Elegant Hot & Cold Antipasto, Assorted Salads, Cheeses, & Crudites, Gourmet Pastas,

Carving Stations, Potato & Vegetables, Dessert & Coffee

INTRODUCING FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT – “BLACK & WHITE CASINO NIGHT”!

Black Jack, Roulette, Craps and Texas Hold’ Em Tables will be open from 6:30 to 9:00PM.

Tickets to participate in Casino Night need to be purchased at the time of your RSVP in order to staff dealers.

Casino Night tickets cost $50.00 per person. In return, you will receive $200.00 Starter Script to begin play.

Casino Night is Optional.

Below are several ways to be involved in this year’s Auction success:

 

CLASS GIFTS - Every year each class creates a personalized item made by the boys with the guidance of our Class Mothers and Teachers. These items are entered into the Silent Auction. The Mothers’ Auxiliary allots $250.00 to each class for the materials for this item. In addition, each class will create a theme basket with related donated items from anyone in the class who wishes to donate. Great progress has been made already on your selections & donations!!!!

SILENT AUCTION - Letters were sent to last year’s donors asking for their help again to supply an array of items for the silent auction. We hope that many of you are also either in a position to personally donate an item or donate an item on behalf of your business.

 Last year, “SIGN-UP PARTIES” were introduced as an additional fund raising opportunity. A family or two collectively host a themed party at their choice of location (home, garden, restaurant or other) on a pre-selected date at a set price for attending. Bidders need only sign-up to attend and pay the stipulated price the same as you would pay for a successfully bid item. ALL the proceeds will be donated to the school and the host families will donate the food, drinks and ambiance. If you are interested in hosting a “Sign-Up Party”, please contact Mrs. Cristofaro or Mrs. Fulco.

JOURNAL ADVERTISING - We invite you to create a personalized advertisement with photos, drawings or greetings for the Journal or place an ad for your business. You may also know of a business that would like to advertise in our Journal. To place your ad, please contact Mrs. Cindy Cristofaro, Journal Chairperson. A Journal Acquisition Form is enclosed in this mailer. We also welcome families joining together to place an ad.  Ad tributes to the honorees are greatly appreciated individually, by a group or class.

RAFFLE - Every year we conduct a raffle that is part of the Auction fun and excitement. Raffle tickets were mailed to all Iona parents in January. A book of ten tickets cost $100. We hope that ALL Iona families will purchase or sell their full book even if circumstances prevent you from attending. The raffle prizes are GREAT! First prize is a 4 day/ 3 night stay at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas plus a $1,000.00 Travel Voucher. Second prize is a 3 day/2 night stay at Hershey Lodge in Hershey , Pa. plus Park Passes . Third prize is a Nintendo Wii System plus 2 games.

UNDERWRITING OPPORTUNITIES - This year we structured our underwriting opportunities as an affordable way for families, groups or merchants to take their support one step further. As an Auction Underwriter, you will be sponsoring one of the Casino tables and helping to defray the expenses of the event. In return, you will be acknowledged as a casino table underwriter, receive tickets to the event and the casino with starter script and the opportunity to advertise your personal message or business in the Ad Journal.
